This is more than a business - it's rooted in my own journey.

Curtis Wignall

My journey into photography started around 10 years ago, initially through a passion for aviation.

I would spend days in the hills of Wales and the Lake District capturing low-flying jets.

Over time, I explored other areas of photography including portraits, weddings, and boudoir.  But it wasn’t until my own personal journey began to deepen that I realised photography could be something  a catalyst for self-exploration, and a way to reconnect with parts of ourselves we often suppress or keep hidden.

My personal journey

Alongside photography, I found myself on a deeper personal journey,  exploring my mental wellbeing, identity, and sense of self.

I was drawn to spaces centred around personal growth, emotional awareness, and conscious living.

Through breathwork, therapy, and open conversations around identity, connection, sexuality, and spirituality, I began to rediscover who I was and how much of ourselves we often keep hidden or suppressed.

This led me into environments where people felt free to express themselves, without judgement, through movement, intimacy, dress, sexuality, and kink - spaces where simply being yourself was enough.

And in those spaces, I experienced what it feels like to be seen without expectation, how vulnerable it can feel to be seen and how important it is to feel safe in that space.

This sits at the core of the work I offer.

The Vision

Through these experiences, something shifted.

I began to see photography differently.  Not just as a technical craft, but as something that could hold space for expression, emotion, and truth.

I saw the possibility of creating a very different kind of experience.  Rather than just capturing how someone looks I wanted to capture their authentic self — raw, real, and unfiltered. I wanted to create an experience that allows people to be seen without expectation, and to express themselves in a way that feels honest and free.

That vision became Conscious Creations.

This isn’t just a business. It’s an extension of my own journey and an invitation for others to explore and express themselves, exactly as they are.
